Fifteen Gainsborough schools took part in this event, each sending teams of between six and eight runners, with the top four from each team scoring.  The boys race was first to set off on the woodland course. The Saxilby team all ran fantastically pushing very hard for places particularly on the second lap through the woods where many gained places. Jamie Rainey emerged from the woods for a brilliant 3rd place and was backed up by the rest of the boys all coming home in the top half of the field.

The girl’s race again set off at a frantic place with India Barwell dominating the first lap and keeping a commanding lead to come in first place. She was shortly followed by the rest of the girl’s team all most of which came home in the top 20. A brilliant team effort girls.

Saxilby were large schools champions and the overall winners on the day.

A massive well done to all the runners you were a credit to the school both in your running and as a team.
