This term we are studying a new topic The Stone Age. The children are already fascinated about life thousands of years ago and have experienced making their own paint from charcoal, cave painting and making clay pots. We aim to make this topic as practical as possible so jewellery, tools and archaeology are on the cards!
We are basing our Literacy on the film The Croods. Lots of Visual Literacy and descriptive writing is planned.
Our Science topic is Rocks and Soils. We have had many wonderful rocks brought in by the children and they are captivated by the wide variety available. We will be investigating the properties of these rocks including erosion and permeability.
Year 3 and 4 will be visiting Cresswell Craggs to reinforce our Stone Age topic during this term. Dates to be confirmed.
Year 4 are looking forward to our annual residential trip to Freiston Shore. A fun packed stay is guaranteed and we are sure those children visiting Freiston will have many happy memories.
A polite reminder – With the Summer ahead of us could children please bring in a named drinks bottle.
The children are already getting to grips with the new IPAD Mini’s in school. They have all had a chance to research the geography of Ancient Greece including cities, rivers, mountains and famous landmarks. We aim to incorporate the IPADS as often as we can.
We are always very happy for any parental help in class. This could be listening to readers, helping with times tables or even strimming and sticking work for displays. If you are interested, or have a hidden talent that we could use in some way please come and speak to the Year 3 & 4 team
